CJI Constitutes Three-Judge Committee to Examine Cause List Reforms & Sequential Listing of Cases

Supreme Court Cause List

The Supreme Court has constituted a three-judge committee to examine issues relating to the simplification of the cause list, uniformity in taking up cases strictly as per seriatim, and the representation submitted by the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCAORA).

Issued pursuant to the deliberations of the Full Court Meeting held on July 15, 2026, the Chief Justice of India has constituted the committee to consider the issues and make appropriate recommendations.

The committee comprises:

Justice Vikram Nath

Justice Pamidighantam Sri Narasimha

Justice V. Mohana

The committee has been tasked with examining issues concerning simplification of the Supreme Court’s cause list, ensuring uniformity in taking up matters strictly according to their serial order (seriatim), and considering the representation made by SCAORA, before submitting its recommendations. The Registrar (Judicial Listing) has been directed to assist the committee in its functioning.
