The Delhi High Court on Monday issued notice to journalist Sudhir Chaudhary and other respondents, including his production company Essprit Productions and public broadcaster Prasar Bharati (DD News), in a plea filed by Activist Vijay Sherawat alleging that he was falsely identified as ‘Anti-national’ and defamed in a television broadcast concerning the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest. The matter is pending before Justice Subramonium Prasad.

The petitioner has alleged that the broadcast attributed to him statements suggesting that Parliament should be destroyed and that India should be turned into Nepal. He contends that he never made such statements and that the broadcast wrongly portrayed him in a defamatory manner.

The plea seeks an interim injunction restraining Sudhir Chaudhary and the other respondents from telecasting, publishing, circulating or disseminating the impugned broadcast. The Court has sought their response and listed the matter for September 22, 2026.
