The Delhi High Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to issue a Red Corner Notice through INTERPOL against Adeeshwar Singhal to secure his presence before the Court in compliance with its orders, including non-bailable warrants (NBWs).
A Division Bench of Justice Navin Chawla and Justice Ravinder Dudeja, hearing contempt proceedings on its own motion, noted that the respondent had last travelled out of India to Italy in August 2024 and had not returned thereafter. The Court was informed that his present whereabouts were not known and that his Indian passport expired on August 24, 2025. A Look Out Circular had also been issued against him.
The Court further noted that an earlier report had traced the IP address from which the respondent joined the proceedings virtually on April 23, 2026, to Gilroy, California, United States.
The Bench directed the Ministry of External Affairs to inform the authorities concerned in the United States about the NBWs issued against the respondent, the expiry of his Indian passport and the IP address identified in the earlier proceedings, so as to facilitate efforts to trace him and produce him before the Court.
Since the respondent again joined the proceedings virtually on September 18, the Court directed the Cyber Cell, Delhi Police, to inquire into the IP address from which he joined and provide the information to the concerned authorities. The Registry was also directed to supply the IP address details to the learned APP.
The Court directed the respondent to appear in person at the next hearing, scheduled for December 9, 2026, and ordered that the court proceedings continue to be recorded and preserved.
