The Karnataka Government has unveiled a new panel of law officers to represent the State before the High Court of Karnataka, appointing 69 advocates, including 42 Additional Government Advocates (AGAs) and 27 High Court Government Pleaders (HCGPs). The appointments were notified by the Law Department on June 15, 2026, under the Karnataka Law Officers (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1977.
Notably, 26 women advocates have been included in the new panel. The newly constituted panel will represent the Karnataka Government in litigation before the High Court at Bengaluru and assist in matters involving various government departments and authorities. The appointments took immediate effect upon issuance of the notification.
