The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has issued a notification constituting the Online Gaming Authority of India under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025.

As per the Gazette notification dated April 22, 2026, the Authority will be chaired ex officio by the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and IT, with members drawn from key ministries including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Finance (Department of Financial Services), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and the Department of Legal Affairs under the Ministry of Law and Justice.
