The Supreme Court on Tuesday partly stayed a Karnataka High Court order that had set aside the election of Congress MLA KY Nanjegowda from the Malur constituency.
A Bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi allowed Congress MLA KY Nanjegowda to continue as a Member of the Legislative Assembly while directing that the recounting of votes proceed as ordered by the High Court.
The Court further directed that the recounting results be placed before it in a sealed cover and not be disclosed without its permission.
