The Supreme Court granted the Centre three weeks to file the report of the 12-member expert committee constituted to review the NEET-PG admission system, in proceedings concerning the reduction of the qualifying percentile for NEET-PG 2025-26.
A Bench comprising Justice P.S. Narasimha and Justice Alok Aradhe was hearing pleas challenging the reduction in the qualifying percentile.
At the previous hearing, the Centre had informed the Court that an expert committee headed by the Director General of Health Services (DGHS) had been constituted to examine the NEET-PG admission system. The Court had granted eight weeks for the exercise.
Appearing for the Centre, ASG Archana Dave Pathak sought additional time, submitting that the expert committee required more time to complete its exercise.
Advocate Satyam Rajput, appearing for the petitioners, pointed out that the NEET results had already been declared and fresh counselling was set to commence, raising concerns over further delay.
The Court permitted the Centre to take additional time and directed that the expert committee’s report be filed within three weeks from today.
