The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice on comedian Pranit More’s plea seeking clubbing of FIRs registered against him in Maharashtra and Haryana in connection with the ‘Rs 370 biryani’ controversy.
A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohana was hearing More’s plea seeking that the FIRs arising from the same allegations be clubbed.
Appearing for More, counsel submitted that the FIRs contain the same allegations and invoke identical provisions.

“I have tendered a public apology. Before NCW also, I submitted an apology but they did not accept it. I was just the host. I understand the gravity. Only thing I seek is consolidation of FIRs. I’m ready to face the trial.”
The Court was also told that More had deleted the video before the FIR was registered. Counsel submitted that the video had been published by the comedian’s PR team without his approval, while he was travelling.
The controversy arose following remarks made during one of More’s shows, which subsequently led to criminal complaints and FIRs in different jurisdictions. More later approached the Supreme Court seeking consolidation of the proceedings rather than quashing of the FIRs.
The Supreme Court has now issued notice on the plea.
