The Government of Tamil Nadu, through G.O. (D) No.728 dated 02.06.2026, has appointed Mr Prashanto Chandra Sen and Ms. Haripriya Padmanabhan, Senior Advocates, as Counsel for the Government of Tamil Nadu before the Supreme Court of India in the rank of Additional Advocate General. The appointments have been made on a temporary basis under Rule 5(11) of the Law Officers of the High Court of Madras and its Bench at Madurai (Appointment) Rules, 2017, pending selection and appointment of regular Law Officers. The appointees will represent the Government of Tamil Nadu before the Supreme Court of India.
