Centre Appoints Four Chief Justices and Senior Advocate V. Mohana as Supreme Court Judges

The Central Government notified the appointment of four serving High Court Chief Justices and Senior Advocate Venkita Subramani Mohana as judges of the Supreme Court of India under Article 124(2) of the Constitution.

The newly appointed Supreme Court judges are:

  • Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court;
  • Justice Shree Chandrashekhar, Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court;
  • Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court;
  • Justice Arun Palli, Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court; and
  • Venkita Subramani Mohana, Senior Advocate.

The appointments come pursuant to the recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium for filling vacancies in the apex court.
