Logistics Firm Moves NCLT Against XpressBees; Seeks Insolvency Proceedings Over Alleged ₹3 Crore Default

NCLT Insolvency Over Default

Mumbai-based Extra Edge Multi Services Private Limited has moved the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Mumbai Bench, under Section 9 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, seeking initiation of the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) against Busy Bees Logistics Solutions Private Limited (XpressBees) over an alleged operational debt of ₹3 crore.

According to the petition, the parties entered into a Memorandum of Understanding dated March 20, 2023 for transportation and logistics services on a pan-India basis. The operational creditor claims that disputes arose in August 2025 during reconciliation of accounts, following which it allegedly made payments of ₹70 lakh despite goods worth over ₹5 crore remaining in the possession of the corporate debtor.

The petitioner alleges that XpressBees failed to provide Proof of Delivery (POD) for consignments despite contractual provisions stating that PODs could be furnished digitally upon request. It further claims that repeated communications seeking resolution of the dispute went unanswered.

The application seeks commencement of CIRP against Busy Bees Logistics Solutions Private Limited and proposes insolvency professional Anil Jain as the Interim Resolution Professional. The matter is pending consideration before the NCLT, Mumbai Bench.

The Petition has been filed by Advocates Amber Sachdeva, Puru Lekhi and Anish Ahlawat.
