Asian Games 2026: IOA Informs Delhi HC No Show Jumping Team Will Be Sent

Asian Games Show Jumping

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Wednesday informed the Delhi High Court that it has decided not to send India’s Show Jumping team to the 2026 Asian Games following concerns over the eligibility of the selected athletes.

The submission was made before Justice Mini Pushkarna during the hearing of a petition challenging the selection of two riders in the Show Jumping discipline. Counsel appearing for the IOA submitted that, pursuant to the Equestrian Federation of India’s (EFI) response dated July 3 to the IOA’s earlier communication questioning the eligibility of certain athletes, the Association has taken a decision not to send the Show Jumping team to the Asian Games.

The Court was informed that detailed instructions from the Union Government were awaited and sought to post the matter later in the day. Counsel for the petitioner submitted that if no Show Jumping team is being sent, there would be no question of permitting the previously selected riders to participate by any other means.

The matter will be heard at 2.30pm.
