A Bhopal court remanded former judge Giribala Singh to 14 days’ judicial custody in connection with the alleged dowry death of her daughter-in-law, Twisha Sharma. Singh and her son, advocate Samarth Singh, were arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) last month and had been in agency custody until June 2.
When produced before the trial court, the CBI did not seek an extension of custodial interrogation. Consequently, Judicial Magistrate Shobhana Bhalawe remanded Giribala Singh to judicial custody for 14 days.
