The Delhi High Court, comprising Justice Jasmeet Singh, has granted relief to a group of doctors whose DNB Post Diploma admissions were cancelled by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) for non-submission of NOC/relieving documents.

The petitioners, who had qualified PDCET 2026 and secured their DNB Post Diploma seats on merit, submitted that they had completed institutional verification, joined their allotted institutions and commenced their training. They subsequently obtained and furnished the requisite NOCs/relieving documents in response to show-cause notices issued by NBEMS.

During the hearing, NBE undertook to create a one-time exemption for DNB Post Diploma candidates whose admissions had been cancelled for non-submission of NOCs, and agreed to provide an opportunity to the petitioners to make representations in terms of the undertaking for reconsideration of their cases.

In view of the undertaking, the Court permitted the petitioners to submit their representations, directing that their cases be reconsidered afresh by the respondent authority in accordance with the undertaking.

The proceedings provide an opportunity to the affected candidates to seek reconsideration of the cancellation of their seats and rejoin their respective DNB Post Diploma courses.
