The Delhi High Court has placed Ms. Veena Rani, an officer of the Delhi Higher Judicial Service (DHJS), under suspension with immediate effect pending contemplated disciplinary proceedings.
According to an order dated 15 July 2026, the suspension has been ordered in exercise of powers under Rule 3(1)(a) of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969, read with Rule 27 of the Delhi Higher Judicial Service Rules, 1970.
The Court has directed that, during the period of suspension, Ms. Veena Rani’s headquarters shall be the office of the Principal District & Sessions Judge, South-East District, Saket, and that she shall not leave Delhi without obtaining prior permission from the competent authority.
The order further states that she will be entitled to subsistence allowance and other admissible allowances in accordance with the applicable service rules during the suspension period.
