The Special NIA Court in Delhi has taken cognisance of the National Investigation Agency’s chargesheets in the November 2025 Red Fort area car blast case, with the matter now listed for September 9.

The NIA had initially filed a 7,500-page chargesheet in May 2026. Its investigation had then been expanded through a supplementary chargesheet filed in June against additional accused. The agency has alleged a wider terror conspiracy linked to Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH) as an offshoot of Al-Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS).

The November 10, 2025 vehicle-borne IED explosion near the Red Fort killed 11 people and injured several others. The NIA alleged that the blast formed part of a larger conspiracy and invoked provisions of the UAPA, BNS, Explosive Substances Act, Arms Act and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.

The NIA’s first chargesheet reportedly contained 588 witness testimonies, more than 395 documents and over 200 seized material exhibits. The agency has alleged that the accused were involved in radicalisation, recruitment, procurement of arms and manufacture and testing of explosives. The supplementary chargesheet named additional accused, including an absconding accused against whom a non-bailable warrant has been issued.

One of the accused, Umar Un Nabi, who the NIA has described as the alleged main perpetrator and the driver of the explosives-laden vehicle, died in the blast. Another accused remains absconding. The Special NIA Court has now listed the matter for September 9 for further proceedings.
