The President of India has appointed Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.
Justice Tripathi is a Judge of the Allahabad High Court and has now been appointed to head one of India’s oldest and largest High Courts.
The appointment forms part of the Centre’s notification appointing eight Chief Justices to various High Courts, following consultation with the Chief Justice of India.
The Supreme Court Collegium had earlier recommended Justice Tripathi for appointment as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.
