Rajasthan High Court Directs Rajasthan Public Service Commission to Provisionally Interview Candidate Fearing Wrongful Rejection

Abhishek Sharma v. State of Rajasthan [Decided on 16-06-2026]

RPSC Provisional Interview Permission

In a civil writ petition filed before the Rajasthan High Court by a candidate of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) fearing rejection of his candidature, a Single Judge Bench of Justice Ravi Chirania allowed the petitioner to appear provisionally in the interview on 16-06-2026.

The petitioner was aggrieved by an apprehension that his candidature would be rejected by RPSC even though he possessed the required qualification. He asserted that a similarly situated candidate was allowed to appear provisionally in the interview by a coordinate bench.

The Court issued notice to the respondents and directed RPSC to allow the petitioner to appear provisionally in the interview on 16-06-2026 as per the interview letter dated 05-06-2026. The Court also directed the petitioner’s result to be kept in a sealed cover and the same was not to be declared without the Court’s permission.
