Under the guidance of the Chief Justice of India, the SAMADHAN SAMAROH 2026 (Supreme Court Action for Mediated Adjudication and Disputes Harmonization Across Nation) has entered its culmination phase with the commencement of the Special Lok Adalat at the Supreme Court of India on August 21, 2026.

The Special Lok Adalat, which will continue until August 23, 2026, is aimed at facilitating the amicable resolution of pending cases through dialogue and consent, thereby reducing prolonged litigation and bringing justice closer to citizens.

On the first day, over 600 cases were listed before 16 Special Lok Adalat Benches, each comprising two sitting Supreme Court Judges along with Senior Advocates, Advocates-on-Record and other advocates. More than 400 cases were amicably settled during the day’s proceedings.

The matters taken up included matrimonial and property disputes, motor accident claims, land acquisition and compensation matters, tax disputes, and service and labour matters pending before the Supreme Court.

The cases had undergone a pre-settlement process since the launch of SAMADHAN SAMAROH in April 2026, with litigants and their counsel being engaged to assess the possibility of an amicable resolution.
