Supreme Court Stays Enforcement Directorate Proceedings Against Hemant Soren

Supreme Court stays ED proceedings

The Supreme Court stayed proceedings initiated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

During the hearing, the Bench observed that the agency had recently filed multiple complaints and suggested that it focus its efforts on pursuing those cases to secure constructive outcomes rather than continuing with the present proceedings.

The Court also noted that in matters relating to terrorism prosecutions, the underlying objective of the agency’s action appeared to have already been achieved.

The proceedings against Soren will remain stayed pending further consideration by the Court.
