The Coordination Committee of all Delhi District Bar Associations has resolved to abstain from judicial work on Monday, May 18, in solidarity with the Rohini Court Bar Association over an alleged incident involving a judicial officer at Rohini Courts.
According to a notice issued by the Rohini Court Bar Association, the controversy stems from an alleged incident involving a judicial officer posted in North-West District, Rohini Courts, who is accused of using abusive language and making objectionable remarks against the President of the Rohini Court Bar Association, besides allegedly making remarks against judges of the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court.
The Bar Association stated that an emergency meeting of its Executive Committee was convened following the incident, in which it was unanimously resolved to bring the matter to the notice of competent authorities, including the Principal District & Sessions Judge, the Registrar General, and the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. It has sought the immediate transfer of the judicial officer concerned, withdrawal of judicial work from the officer, and initiation of a formal inquiry.
The notice further states that the incident was allegedly captured on mobile phone and widely circulated on social media, following which the Coordination Committee of Delhi District Bar Associations condemned the conduct and resolved to abstain from judicial work across district courts in Delhi.
