The Delhi High Court indicated that it will appoint three senior advocates as amicus curiae to represent Aam Aadmi Party leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Durgesh Pathak in proceedings arising from the CBI’s petition challenging their discharge in the alleged liquor policy corruption case.
The development comes after the three leaders chose to boycott the hearing. The boycott followed the refusal of Justice Sharma to recuse from the matter, despite requests made in that regard.
In view of their absence, the Court stated that it would appoint independent senior counsel to assist the court and ensure that the matter is heard fairly, with all legal perspectives adequately represented.
