A Pune court has extended the judicial custody of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, the two accused in the alleged murder of 25-year-old realtor Ketan Agarwal, till July 29. The duo appeared before the court through video conferencing after the expiry of their earlier judicial custody.
The case pertains to the death of Ketan Agarwal, who allegedly fell from a cliff at Lohagad Fort near Lonavala on June 18. Police initially treated the incident as an accidental fall but later arrested Siya Goyal, Agarwal’s fiancée, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, accusing them of conspiring to push him off the cliff. Investigators claim the two had planned the murder and even conducted a recce of the location before the incident.

During Thursday’s hearing, the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Vadgaon Maval, Pune, also allowed an application filed by Chetan Chaudhary’s defence seeking preservation of CCTV footage from the Pune Rural Superintendent of Police’s office for June 23, the day the accused were arrested. The defence has alleged that he was brought to the SP office nearly 12 hours before the FIR was formally registered, and has sought to challenge the legality of his arrest.
